Poem so far......

At the break of dawn, we saw them, you and I,
the banners streaming across a dreamscaping sky,
Americans look at the stars in the sky, with a sigh,
The British fondly remember Captain Bligh,
The general lets out a big cry,
The lieutenant spills his tea and asks 'Why?'
The silence that follows is just one more lie,
Of the promise they made to howling moonlight,
