Does anyone here on WP celebrate Valentine's Day? How do you spend Valentine's Day whether you celebrate it or not?

I celebrated Valentine's Day in elementary school by making boxes and handing out cards and giving candy to the other kids in the class. I stopped celebrating Valentine's Day in 6th grade once my school no longer had "parties." I honestly think that Valentine's Day is a gimmick that the flower and card companies use to make huge profits. This sales pitch is very effective. Sometimes on Valentine's Day I buy myself chocolate or ask my friends for a bit of chocolate that they received. I love chocolate if you haven't noticed.

I never had a girlfriend on V`day to celebrate with & I doubt I will this year either  Even if I did have one; I still wouldn't really see the point in celebrating it much. I'd rather be appreciative, affectionate, sweet, caring, sensitive ect with my partner all year round instead of devoting a special day to it thou I would still love to spend the day with her if I had a partner but I'd rather skip the gifts, flowers, ect & just enjoy the moment of doing something with her that involves affection & telling her how I care about her

Yes, I do.
My parents and I have always exchanged gifts:

and when in relationships, I do the same with significant others,
as well as decorating and other things:

I baked a cake for my boyfriend, for example, and just finished another for my parents:

it's supposed to be a heart, but it turned out so moist that it crumbled easily. I still like it. :D

"Valentine's Day" has the same initials as "Venereal Disease" - "V.D."

Coincidence?

I think not!

No, not really.

If I'm in a relationship/interested in a girl I'll get her some chocolates, that's about it.

I have always wanted to. Have I ever had someone else want to? No.... The odds of me ever being someones valentine..... Nil (in fact the universe would implode first).

I only "had" a valentine when I was with my first BF.

The 14th is also Singles Awareness Day. I will be taking pause to think about those who are less fortunate with love.

I only do something when I'm in a relationship, and that's usually just something small like a dinner and a card. I'm single this year, and will likely end up treating it like any other day.

In primary, I would celebrate Valentine's by making a cute little box to hang off my desk (everyone did) and hand out cards and candy (: One Valentine's my first official boyfriend asked me out, and at the time I rejected him -- including the rose and chocolate he got me.

Whether I'm in a relationship or not, I celebrate it somehow (: Arts and crafts, time with my boy, anything like that. Last year I made my boyfriend some sweet art, and for our 6-month-almost-anniversary when my boyfriend visited (2 months before Valentines) I made us matching stuffed hearts :P

I haven't celebrated Valentine's day since I was in grade school. I've just never seen the appeal. And now that I've been singe as long as I have, I can't see myself ever celebrating it again. Though on the bright side, the last few weeks of February always have cheap candy for sale. So that's a good thing.

I don't celebrate Valentines Day even though I'm in a relationship. It's a consumer holiday where the flowers and chocolates are marked up to twice the price as they would be normally. Why not love all year rather than on one day?

Nope. Not going to happen. Not. Ever. If I were someone's true Valentine, it would fair near cause me a heart attack. ;)

Good for those folks who enjoy all that gubbins though. :)

Not usually.

Just joined an event about exchanging things in valentines day with some friends that are also single because it seemed like a cute idea but I dont think I´ll send anything too fancy
