I don't think it is better per say, but it is a good era! I love music from the Romantic era, but Baroque is probably my second favorite. Handel, Bach, Monteverdi, Vivaldi...with composers like that it's hard to go wrong! In terms of opera though, I much prefer operas from this era to those of any other. I'm not a big fan of opera in general, but I absolutely love a couple Baroque ones.

Late romantic period and select modern works are the places where I've heard by far the best music.

Both classical and baroque are well structured like a cube, but just as boring. If I had to pick one it would be baroque. It typically lends itself to mental stimulation whereas classical is really just old pop music.

I like Classical better than Baroque.
