Don't forget about creeping up on fools and haters.

My own ego is the only drug I need.

Oh, yeah, heroin, too.

Lexapro for depression, but that's a comorbid, so doesn't really count.

I'm taking a multivitamin for general health.

My messed up sleep cycle prompts the need for stimulants and depressants:
Occasionally, when I'm tired and don't have time for coffee, I take a 200mg caffeine pill in the morning.
Melatonin works to put me to sleep when I can't sleep because I'm thinking about something interesting.
An OTC sleeping pill is my last resort when my sleep cycle is so messed up that I'm not tired at 2 a.m. or later (maybe once a week or so).

I wish I could just sleep when I wanted to, without having to fit myself to the way the world runs; because then I wouldn't need any of the sleeping pills.

Caffeine helps my attention span and executive function a little, though, so I'd still drink coffee. I like the "buzz"--it helps me think better and get things done more efficiently.

I don't take anything for AS, just a multivitamin and birth control pills.

Being male with AS is a for more effective birth control than any pill you take.

The machine1,

That GREEN tobacco could be the cause of many of your problems!

Well, my Physician DID diagnose me as bipolar. I am taking tyrosine and 5-htp for that. HIS perscription of cymbalta was SCARY, so I stopped ABER SCHNELL!! !! !! BTW The self destructive thoughts, and depression are GONE!

BTW that isn't really for ASPERGERS! I AM trying the acetyl-L carnitine ALSO! There are some interesting things. Some of my memories are coming back(I remembering names I wasn't even sure I ever knew), and in some ways I am feeling younger mentally(More Ability, younger feeling, same experience.). I haven't had any headaches yet, etc.... MAYBE the described headaches(by someone else here) were a magnesium, Vitamin B, or amino acid deficiency.

BTW if anyone else thinks about this, at least make sure you are NOT taking a coumarin! I AM taking a coumarin, and my INR went to 5.8(4+ is considered dangerous). LUCKILY, I monitored it, and got it down again. That only happened last wednesday though, and I haven't been able to make sure WHAT affected my INR like that. It could have been a temporary change in my diet, or could have just HAPPENED. Those NOT taking a coumarin that are not hemophiliacs should have nothing to worry about as far as INR, because your body will compensate. Of course, I am not making any claims, or giving medical advice.

Steve

I am on no meds, although I used to be on Ritalin.

There are many real disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder, but the alleged ADD/ADHD epidemic is blown way out of proportion. So a kid won't pay attention when you lock him in a classroom for six hours a day, and give him homework to do afterwards. What do you expect, that he'll sit quietly and do all his assignments like a good little boy? It's called being a kid.

Sometimes, I hate people.

If you do a search on medline ( goverment database of abstracts of scentific journals)you get 14000 plus hits for ADHD. while individual dr may missdiagnos it is a rather common disorder 5-10% of the population. while eeg can not be used to dx ADHD
if you take 100 kids dx with ADHD and 100 kids who are not dx ADHD you will get much
stronger average thetawaves in parts of their brains (when they do not take meds) in the ADHD group. Also do not confuse hyperactivity and inattentiviness they can occur
together or seperate. I have inattentiveness and could sit quetly for 6 hours with no
problem not listening to one word the teacher said.

Yes, and sometimes doctors just want to take care of their friends at the pharmacy.
