I read that your favourite fairy tale when you're a child is a pretty good predictor of what your whole life will be like. Do you think that's true, and what's your favourite fairy tale?

I think it might be true. My favourite fairy tale was The Ugly Duckling.

For kid stories (Little Golden Books) I liked The Kitten Who Thought He Was A Mouse - his family wasn't his *real* family (sound familiar?).

My favorite book was "where the wild things are"

My favorite story was "The Star- bellied Sneetchs"

I still love both and think they do reflect who I am.

As far as "fairy tales"...they always scared me.Though I can relate to "the Princess and the Pea" when I am trying to sleep at night or find comfortable cloths.

"The Emperor's New Clothes", naturally.

I've always seen a bit too much, and not always kept my mouth shut.

rumpelstilskin, little red riding hood(only in original form. when the wolf is an actual wolf, not cartoon one)

well actually i like alot of the Grimm's Fairy Tales. i don't like to read fairy tales in their unoriginal form though. i like the stories straight forth and in their original form.

when i was younger i loved the lion king(i think that would count as a fairy tale, but that's the only thing i really loved as a child)

Toss up between Peter Pan and The Emperor's New Clothes. Or - is Pippi Longstocking a fairy tale? If it is, then its my favorite. Come to think of it, I remember dressing up as her for Halloween one year...

I don't really ever remember reading faerie tales, but I enjoyed making up my own stories about princesses and their servants who lived in far-away lands when I was really young.

My favourite story when I was little was Narnia. That would probably explain a lot about me, though...

My favorite fairy tale was the one about Saddam Hussein being connected to al-Qaeda.

My second favorite is the Tale of Werbert and His Thousand Girlfriends.

i remember making up alot of stories about rulers who were animals. the type of animal would always vary and that one animal would rule all the animals in the magical kingdom. i would(and still do sometimes whenever i'm bored) also spend hours in my room making up stories with my stuffed animals.

I've never really got into faory tales. The wolves were always depicted as evil :( .
However, there is a movie called Hoodwinked, which is a twisted version of the little red ridinghood story, where the wolf is accually an investigative reporter.

Mine was about the woman who lived in a shoe. I didn't like the story, in fact I thought it was boring, but I liked it because she lived in a giant SHOE!! !

Not sure if it's a fairy tale exactly but it was a story written for children - The Just So Stories - The Cat Who Walked By Himself by Kipling. These are a really good read for adults too.

'I am the Cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me'.

I always liked Roald Dahls version of fairytales, is it just me or is he evil?
His Little Red Riding Hood is good, where she has a gun and doesn't need the woodsman, she shoots the wolf and makes a coat out of him, hehehe.
