On a more serious note, it is quite remarkable how much change occurred in the time between 1868 and 1912. Even between 1890 and 1912, in some parts of the world, cars, household electricity, heavier-than-air flight... all of these things were becoming common simultaneously. It must have been an exciting time to live in, watching a whole new world grow before one's eyes- and many people born in the 1870s lived until the 1950s or 60s, perhaps a little later even- the fortune of watching a new age begin
