Yes, I often take things with me (interest related) wherever I go---including work. These are often reading items or things I have been working on like stories. I have recently been downloading some things to my Kindle---very easy to take along.

I never (ok, only sometimes) leave the house without music. Occasionally, I also bring a book or magazine in case I feel like reading something.
