Excellent Choice!

A lot of people were speculating that Mr. Etchasketch was going to switch from pretending to be a mean, nasty conservative (to win the nomination) to pretending to be a goody-two-shoes liberal (to win the presidency), and that he should select a mean and nasty conservative to sooth mean and nasty Republican voters, while Romney wooed other people.

Donald Trump can play mean and nasty, and he does enjoy firing people.

I may be mistaken, but I think that Donald Trump was also in favour of health-care reform at one time, before it became de rigueur for "conservatives" to oppose health care reform.

Thats a good point.
But the trouble is that you cant forget the religous right.
And you cant have two eastern establishment plutocrats (two eastern seaboard rich guys) on the same ticket.

Gotta have someone from the heartland, or from the West, with the common touch.
Thats why McCain had a Palin as his running mate.

Trouble is its hard to find someone from the religous right who doesnt piss off the middle of road swing voters.

Ideally the person should be a protestant, and a non Mormon.

Theyre gonna have to find an unknown black (or hispanic) woman evangelical from the midwest or the west to fill the role. Good luck finding that person!

Plus, Donald Trump is an atheist. A Mormon President and an atheist VP--Jerry Falwell will be turning over in his grave. On the other hand, Ronald Reagan was also an atheist, who did a convincing enough job of faking Christianity to beat an actual Christian.

We haven't had an ostensively non-Christian president since Thomas Jefferson, from way back when the Intellectual Elite was ostensively intellectual.

I would not pick donald trump I would end up picking Jeb Bush because that away the right-wingers will be all on Mitt Romenys band wagon.

Inuyasha probably won't be selected, given his contemptuous comments directed at Mr. Romney.

Donald Trump would ruin Mitt Romneys chances of becoming president the 99% would be against him.

I'm thinking he might pick a "liberal" Republican; what hard-right GOPers (a redundant term these days, I know) would call a "RINO." And the person he picks will probably have been a "RINO" his (or her) whole career.

The thing is, "liberal" Republicans (the ones who support gun control, are pro-choice, etc.) are pretty much always total Wall Street/corporation/big business wh*res. Their "liberalism" and intimacy with big corporations go hand-in-hand.

He'll pick Marco Rubio almost guaranteed. Young, Hispanic, appeals to so called Tea Party voters, and will help him carry all important Florida.

It's hard to rationalize this because as in 2000 and 2008, the Republican nominee's vice president choice was completely unexpected.

It's mathematically impossible for anyone else to get the nomination, short of some sort of massive game-changing event, like Romney suddenly dropping out.

A few names that come to mind: Scott Brown, Tim Pawlenty, Jon Huntsman, Rick Perry or one of his former primary opponents.

Let us take a look at some names that have been tossed around already:

Michelle Bachmann: Unfortunately, the American voter base still reeks of sexism, so she could cost Romney the election. A lot of people said that's what happened in 2008 with John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Jeb Bush: His last name is Bush, enough said.

Chris Christie: It's very likely that he does not want to do anymore than he is doing now. Possible health concerns.

Donald Trump: I doubt he would want to take a pay cut.

If Sarah Palin was qualified to be a presidential running mate why not?

If he actually chose Snooki then I would vote for him just to say that I voted for him.

Sorta how in 2008 people voted for Obama to "be a part of history."
