I'm a little late posting but I had a good time too at our recent meet-up. As others have mentioned it would be nice to go to a less crowded place next time, I dislike/become anxious in crowds as well. Perhaps we could go to a tea place next time? Tea shops tend to be quiet and have fewer people than food courts and avoid the mingling of many different kinds of food smells.

I'm a little late getting back to this thread as well, but I really enjoyed meeting you all. If we get a chance, I'd love to do this again, and maybe plan more activities next time. December may be a possibility but we'll have to play it by ear for now. In the meantime, feel free to contact me by email at [email protected]. (I don't log in to facebook often, but just PM or Email me and I will add you if you like.) It was wonderful to meet you all and I hope we can do this again sometime soon.

Hi, I'm new to the site and am very thankful to have found this thread.

I've felt very alone for a very long time, and its hard talking to family about what I'm going through, since they just can't meet me on my level, but they do try their best to guess.

I'd really like to meet other people with Asperger's who potentially are dealing with the same or similar things.
I think it would be such a relief to be able to just relax around other people, who I know won't try to bully, humiliate or take advantage of me.

I've never met another person with Asperger's that I was aware of.

I live about an hour and a half from Toronto, and it would be a quick enough trip into the city.

I love the ROM, and parks are nice too, a quiet coffee shop that isn't too busy is good also.

Please let me know if something comes up again, and shoot me a PM if you'd like to talk...I'm new to this forum.

Thanks.

Which direction do you live in from the city? I live in the Durham Region.

Yep same here! Durham region. East of Toronto, a bit past Whitby and Oshawa and all that.

We had a very vague tentative plan to meet sometime this December. I think a lot of us are in school.........so maybe after exams? I only have one exam on December 14th so any time after that is good for me.

If you don't mind me asking, what university are you at?

I am really sad I missed last meet up. I was really looking forward to it too. If another meet up gets planned, would someone be able to PM me here, since I tend to get lost on forums :P

Another meetup, you say? Well, I live in the downtown core of Toronto, so sure, why the hell not?

I was planning on reviving this thread closer to the date, but since it's already bumped...

There's been a tentative date set during the first week of January, after New Year's Day. If any one has any ideas/dates they want to throw out, you're welcome to do so :)

We're both at York University, in Toronto.

I have a crazy schedule so I'll go with whatever date & time you guys decide and then see if I can make it. My plans often change unexpectedly at the last minute.

Anybody looking to meetup January 5th or 6th? Composer, Scubasteve and I are thinking Saturday is a better option for us. Let us know.
