Basically, it's a remake of the original (Halo 1), which was made 10 years ago, but with updated graphics that are on par with modern standards.
All of the gameplay, voice acting, level design was preserved exactly as it was in the original. Even though some glitches could have been ironed out and there could have been a better checkpointing system, it is a really faithful adaptation for the purists.
The HD graphics can be toggled on and off. You can go from playing the game in HD high quality graphics (that are as good looking as Halo 3, if not better) to playing the game with the original undoctored graphics. Switching from HD to original graphics made me realize how good looking Halo 1 still is in its artistic vision, even though a lot of time has passed.
There is online multiplayer, but it wasn't fleshed out enough (likely because they had to have it on time).
