Unusual Obsessions

As aspies we have tendency to become obsessed with things for a while then forget about them. What kind of obsessions have you had? What's the most unusual one? I used to be obsessed with graphology (study of handwriting) and toxicology.

I was obsessed with ancient cultures, the history of christianity and the protoindoeuropean language and pantheon, but now I'm mostly obsessed with aspergers fulltime.

I was obsessed with collecting TY beanies when I was young. My new obsession is fish keeping.

I was obsessed with dwarfism, and now I am obsessed with Morquio syndrome (a form of dwarfism).

My strangest obsession was yiff.

Ferraris. Anything having to do with WWII. Posting here on WP.

Carmel, Indiana probably has to be one of my strangest obsessions I've ever had.

I'm obsessed with Routemasters. I think that it's very unusual for most people to even be interested in Routemasters. Of course I'm in Canada and everything else about me is that of a Londoner. I'm sorry about the generalization, but I think that a person has to be a Londoner, or really feel like a Londoner to have sentimental feelings for the Routemaster. On the other side of the coin, I think it's very strange how my NT family members could be as wrapped up in sports and celebrities as they are. I try to understand their obsessions. I wish that they would try to understand more about Routemasters, in return. Oh, well. I'm living on my own, now. I can give myself the love and acceptance that I've never felt that I've received from anybody else offline.

I'm also obsessed with antique Christmas Lights.

I was obsessed with India, for a long time. I read everything I could, tried recipes, and talked excessively about the culture, it's customs, languages, etc. My latest obsession is AS.

I'm also obsessed with Artillery and Sniper Rifles. It my longest standing obsession and only thing I have in common with my father. (He's a redneck who likes to hunt)

I was obsessed with Atari as a young teenager. Not just Atari 2600, but the quaint personal computers also, and the history of the company and its founders...I'd read uk-only atari-related publications and was familiar with most if not all vendors around the us. This was early-mid nineties and most of the rest of the world had moved on by then.

Obsession 1) A person I've known for about 6 months - the obsession is for me to make sure he understands my feelings for him while maintaining mutual respect.

Obsession 2) The tv show LOST.

Obsession 3) Researching and collecting data about the way others with AS behave as opposed to the way I behave with AS.

My obsession at the moment is mythology, Greek and Egyptian but I'm moving on to Norse now. It's such a huge subject, I think this one will last for years. Hope so as I'm really enjoying it.
