The two concepts are often allied, but pure classical liberalism leads you into absurd situations where you have lots of freedom from and very little freedom to. Not if you align classical liberalism with other ideologies as well, and compromise. No one ideology on its own has all the answers, and that's why I'm not a pure classical liberal. I'm just sort of on that wavelength.
