I'm 25 and I still watch the new Pokemon movies that come out, and I was excited to see Wreck it Ralph with my 3 year old nephew (heck I think I was more excited about the movie than he was)
I love going to Disney World and I'm still a kid at heart.
I don't see anything wrong with that. I like what I like and that's it.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

I agree. There is nothing at all wrong with enjoying kids movies. I love them. There is usually something in the films that adults get and kids do not. I go to these movies without any kids. It is ok.

there is nothing wrong with an adult watching kids movies ( I am looking forward to Wreck it Ralph which is out here on boxing day).

I usually go to these movies alone. (the last G rated movie I saw was From Up on Poppy Hill at an anime film festival. It was an excellent movie. ).

BTW you should go to a Furry, comic, Trekie, Science Fiction or similar convention if you like kids movies. you will find lots of like minded folks. (but I am a furry so I am a little bias)

I don´t get why it should be damaging. I watch good kids-shows when I get the chance because for me it´s a good way to relieve anxiety and depression.

I love watching e.g Astrid Lindgren-movies, Tintin, Moomin and iCarly. My favorite Disney-movies are Beauty and the Beast (one of my favorite movies of all time), Aladdin and Lion King. There´s something about the colours in these movies that soothe me and the carefree attitude. So I say it´s good to watch these kinds of things from time to time.

My mother watches a lot of "kid" movies. She has all the Air Bud and Air Buddies movies and many others.

There is nothing wrong with watching movies made primarily for kids. I tend to find such movies to be very boring, though.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

Nothing wrong with it. Actually, I just found out that my library did not have any of the classic Disney movies from the seventies, so guess what I ordered? My total childhood favorites. I LOVE the older Freaky Friday from the seventies. And I still watch the Muppets. Actually, I just watched some of the classic Sesame Streets, which are now being prerelease on Dvd.

Just ignore those comments and be a specialist on kids films if that is what you enjoy.

Sounds like my mother, before she died. She had all the Lassie, Air Bud, and Benji movies that ever were produced.

I don't watch all that many "adult movies" but it is not like I don't. I guess game of thrones (tv series, so I guess it might not count) is too kiddie. Course those 2 people at work had not heard of that show

Game of Thrones is not "kiddie". And 2 people you know not watching something, doesn't mean they don't watch it because its kiddie. But anyway, it's not something made for kids.
And plenty of adults like movies like Shrek.
And plenty of adults watch "kids" movies/tv shows. If you ever want reassurance of that, just to tumblr. If you join up and follow enough blogs, you'll soon see tons of old disney movies being reblogged from older people, as well as newer movies. Same with a tv show, in fact, earlier tonight I was happily watching Sanjay and Craig. It was quite funny. And the you get shows like Adventure Time, which is a great mix of childish and mature.
So just enjoy whatever you like.

I took my daughter to see Despicable Me 2 today, and I think I enjoyed it more than she did.

A good kids' movie should be enjoyable by adults, so it's absolutely okay to like kids stuff.

As a cartoon lover (and amateur cartoon expert), I think that you should blame the Animation Age Ghetto. [LINK]

It seems to be more acceptable for adults to openly show interest in "kid" things these days. I can wear a t-shirt with a Sesame Street character on it that's actually in a size big enough to fit me, and no one says to me, "What are you 4"? But, as always there are people, -the ones who REALLY need to grow up- who think anything other people like that they don't is wrong, and therefore that person is wrong for liking it, too, because most people naturally need to feel superior and the only way they know how is by bullying. My mother once even said when she was a kid adults didn't even go around riding bicycles, unless they *wanted* to get laughed at!

People assume it's a sex thing. If someone's getting off on kids' characters, I find that a bit creepy tbh. I ship adults in kids' media (Mary Poppins and Bert for eg) but only romantically.

However, I've only ever read about that sort of person online.

My family all love kids' stuff except my uncle. Being teachers gives them an excuse I guess but actually one of mum's criteria is 'not if I saw it at work' (sadly this means no Shrek)

Me and my dad like it most. I like either stuff that gets me called pompous or kids' stuff that gets me called immature. Mostly the family stuff which is designed to be good enough for adults to like too or the YA stuff.

My dad only watches kids' stuff and it's for the opposite reason of what people say online. He hates sex and violence. It's a wonder he fathered me. He didn't have a proper childhood so he's making up for it in adulthood, watching all sorts of old and new Disney movies and other sorts of well made children's movies. Also because of his bad childhood, he can't abide violence (weird for a Disney fan but whatever). I just wish he'd quit judging those adults who do like/can bear horror movies.

I love the magic and innocence of well made kids' stuff, especially British stuff. It also tends to have better sets, even in live action, and although there's been an upsurge of adult cartoons on TV, there aren't many at the cinema and I like to see the art in a film length cartoon or a film length Claymation film.
