I heard a very sad story on the radio news today!

A female police officer, who had just gotten into the force and was in her first week on her own, was killed when a BMW crashed into her car at the age of 30.

Why do things have to fall out of place like that?

Well, life goes on!

She was very old.

30? No!

30 is fairly young as far as American human lifespans are concerned these days.

I get the impression he might have been taking the piss. Or you were following on from him and I didn't get that you were following on from him taking the piss and you were taking the piss too. Or something. My head hurts.

I was thinking of Catch22 - she won't get any older. Probably inappropriate - sorry.

She is dead. You cannot get any older than that - therefore she was very old. Its a theme/joke that runs thru the book, Catch22.

Still sad. But I am a bit of a fatalist. Like Steve Irwin getting stabbed by a stingray. It was a freak accident. I think only 2 other people have reported as being killed by stingrays. A King Cobra or Western Taipan should have got him, but his time was not up until he met a stingray. :?

30 is still young by American standards.

Any American would tell you that!
