Hi,

I'm a bit of a collector, although I'm not a hoarder. Right now I'm collecting books. All sorts of books but mainly classics (hardcover) written in English by authors such as Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle etc. Throughout the years (since I was a child) I've been collecting quite a lot of things. For example:

- Rubik's Cubes
- Ice-hockey cards
- Pogs
- Rubbers (or erasers, if you live in the US)
- Stuffed animals
- Lego
- Harry Potter merchandise
- Stickers
- Bookmarks

What about you?

I collect books, especially books on royalty and historical fiction and other topics of interest. I also collect cat figures, and my cat's whiskers.

Actually, my new puppy is also a collector. He collects weeds he digs up, pieces of papers, twigs, sticks, rocks, leaves, flowers, and other things he finds around the back yard. He keeps them all on his bed.

My Little Pony toys - My current count is around 35 or 36. It started about 6 months ago because I got into the recent cartoon that so many adults love. But even though I'm not into watching the cartoon anymore, I still have a strong desire to collect the toys. Sometimes if I go too long without adding new additions to my collection, I start dreaming about it, and the dreams won't stop until I succeed in acquiring new toys.

I'm a packrat. I collect:

- Records
- Vacuum tubes (historical and "modern") and antique electronics
- Electronic components (for experiments and building things)
- Coins & currency (with no particular focus)
- Guns
- Ammunition (aside from what I shoot). I have over 90 unique cartridges from the late 1800s to present, displayed on the wall in a typesetter's drawer.

Ancient Greek and Roman coins; got several--will always collect these
Marvel Superhero cards; hundreds of them in plastic slips
Lots of wargame books
DVD collections; X-Files for example

I also collect various .22LR ammunition boxes (full); I just buy a different box now and again and leave it in my ammo box (I won't open it; if I want to, I'll just buy two boxes and use one)

I'm not much of a collector these days as the compulsion isn't there and also I used to be a hoarder as a child so I'm very determined to purge myself regularly and not allow myself to collect too much.

In the past my collections included brochures for sewing machines, sewing accessories, pieces of fabric, buttons (my mother worked for Singer sewing machines thus the sewing related collections), and stones...many many stones! Probably more I can't remember. If you're also going to include hoarding behaviour one of my key attachments were nearly totally empty shampoo bottles

Currently I only collect marbles, books relating to menstruation, leaflets on menstrual products and necklaces with the word "heartbreaker"

Mostly books, music, and movies. Thought I try to keep them rotating collections out of necessity and very finite room.

Every so often the collection gets assessed and some stuff is sold off. However, some stuff stays and that's the important part. The material that I've decided has staying power. The music I still listen to and bands I still buy from. Or the very specific authors I don't lose interest in.

So over time the collection becomes a very solid representation of what I like.

Movies a little less, because I lean on Netflix a lot or entertainment and so I don't actually buy stuff. With a few exceptions again. I hold a few directors in very high regard and prefer to have good hard copies instead of streaming their material online and sacrificing quality.
