That's a great article, and it actually gives an accurate description this time! Well, there are a few things, but all in all, it was an enlightening read!

I wish I had the nerve to email that to my boss. She does know I have a AS DX....it might be a good way to explain ....why I am such a weirdo(not a team player, perfectionist, stickler for following medical procedure, have problems with co-workers laziness)Probably wouldnt make her like me any better though.

Heh - a decent story out of that quasi-socialist rag... a rarity. :)

It is a very positive article. My only criticism is yet again someone has written people with Asperger's lack creativity and imagination. Which is balls.
But not bad for the Guardian.

Hmmn..

Personally I lack a "visual" imagination except in certain places I create based on certain logical deductions..

However I'm very creative, with my use of words, and with ideas in terms of music.

So yeh, it is balls.

Creativity and Imagination are two different things... One could also be imaginative in a logical way, but not able to share it with others..

WOW! My Carreer hasn't really paralleled ones here, but I fit the profile, so..... That article seemed to imply that same profile that doesn't fit me. THEN, it describes like the first 10 years of my carreer! I came early, stayed late, and was a perfectionist! I also didn't do much small talk. WOW! I always said my last employer never knew what he had.

It's a good article, seems to be mostly accurate and positive, although I agree with Fresco
and Scintillate that it doesn't quite hit the mark about imagination as it falls for a common
misconception - the way I understand it is that ppl with AS have difficulty in things like 'imagining' how a relationship might evolve or 'imagining' what topic they are going to discuss next in a verbal conversation. It's not about a lack of imagination in general.Apart from that, the article would be a good introduction in giving someone an idea of what AS is about
