Did You Crawl Properly As a Child?

I ask that you answer this poll only if you have a professional diagnosis or have been researching it for long enough to be fairly certain that you have an autistic spectrum disorder or ADHD. Likewise, if you are the parent of a child diagnosed with an ASD or ADHD, please answer this regarding your child. As I am uncertain of my own status, I will not answer this poll myself.

The reason I ask this is that my mom says I never really crawled and that one side of my body had normal crawling movements while the other did not, making crawling almost impossible for me. I also found other evidence in my research that this is a possible autistic trait and I was wondering if it is really all that common. I am also wondering if this is also a common ADHD trait as that is what I was Dx'd with as a child.

*EDIT* I screwed up and I guess the fourth poll question regarding ADHD and not crawling normally did not post! As such, I answered the ADHD question that did post so that I could see the result of the poll.

I did basically zero crawling. My mom told me it seemed like I really didn't like the way surfaces felt when I tried so I didn't and when I got sick of being stuck in one place, finally went straight to walking/falling down

Yes and ASD.

I have an ASD and I never crawled, I just went straight to walking at about 8 to 10 months old. I still find the crawling motion quite difficult for some reason.

I'm not sure how I crawled, I may have skipped it - because I'm not sure I'll vote for my son instead who is diagnosed autistic, he crawled and walked typically and on time.

My mum told me I didn't crawl. She said if I was put on my front I used to repeatedly push the upper half of my body up like a cobra and that I would do that (going up and down) for long periods. One day I got up and started walking ... no crawling. But I still used to do the cobra thing for a while after that.

As Squirsh said; i too didn't crawl as a child, when my peers started crawling around on the kitchen floor, i walked behind my mother (though awkwardly and unstable) like young puppy dogs do...

Is there such a thing as crawling "properly" or "normally"?

My daugther doesn't crawl, she uses one leg and one arm to "walk", while she sits on the other leg, and usually holds something in the spare arm.

I crawled normally as a baby. I learnt to crawl at 9 months, and I learnt to walk at 11 months, so I wasn't crawling for very long, I seemed to eager to walk.

My mom says that I had an unusual crawling style (can't remember what she said about it exactly, tho) and that I would "roll" sometimes.

Yes. By normally I mean that both sides of the body move in a relatively symmetrical manner. From what I have read, some babies with ASD or ADHD do not have the ability to coordinate movements between the two sides of the body, possibly because of one side of the brain being more developed than the other.

I did crawl properly and I'm an Aspie.
