Well, my self-diagnosis is now a legit diagnosis. What a relief!

Now I'll be working with my therapist to improve coping / social skills, and we'll work on assessing how severe my case is and whether it warrants pursuit of SSI benefits.

But mostly, it's just so good to finally have the answer for all the issues I've had.

You might need therapy just for the SSI process.

Congratulations (I guess!). At least now you can put a label on things and start to move forward with your life.

The advantage of formal diagnosis to me is that I can contribute to research.
Undiagnosed adult autism and general ignorance of the condition are significant issues in both social and organisational dynamics
