I love lots and lots of music, its no surprise to anyone who knows me, but industrial has always had a special place in my heart alongside shoegaze and dark ambient. Skinny Puppy from the 80s until they become more poppy and lost a lot of their genius. Ogre wrote some truly brilliant songs, Second Tooth off Cleanse Fold and Manipulate is probably my favorite anti-war song ever.

Aside from Skinny Puppy, which makes up the bulk of my industrial collection, I do like NiN, mainly Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral. I never really listened to With Teeth at all but DS was one of my most listened to albums as a young teenager. I never cared much for Manson, he didn't bother or offend me, his music just never reached out to me. Wumpscutt is very hit or miss for me, but Music for A Slaughter is great.

That stuff is Industrial Rock and Metal. My brother and I are currently working on a classic industrial piece inspired by Throbbing Gristle.

Skinny Puppy isn't industrial? Not trying to start an argument with you or anything..

Look into stuff by SPK, Whitehouse, Throbbing Gristle, and early San Francisco era Chrome. Chrome was theband that basically set the standard for a lot of what is now considered 'Industrial Music'. Look for either their 'Alien Soundtracks' + 'Half Machine Lip Moves' CD. --It's their second and third albums which were both recorded @ 1976 or 1977.

You may also wish to further explore NON, Merzbow, early SWANS, and Circle One as well.

That is some trippy stuff. I listened to pigmies in the park and it was so good. Everyone who uses Rhapsody, it's the experimental group and not the rap group.

Industrial music? Of course. It's one of my favourite genres - EBM in-particular.

Chrome's Guitarist, Helios Creed quit @ 1983 and revived the name in 1996 after the other member Damon Edge died in 1995. Damon moved to France and continued on as Chrome after Helios quit. --Apparently Monaco's Prince Ranier was a big fan of Chrome, and it is alleged that he may have supported Damon Edge financially for some of the time that he was in Europe.

--I first heard them in fall of '81 when their 'Blood On The Moon' release came out.

They are probably a lot closer to industrial than what must people mislabel as industrial. A lot of people errorounsly refer to Electronic Body Music or any Dark Electronic as industrial. I'm just a stickler.
