Don't get me wrong, I love the Internet and wouldn't want it to disappear, but this World Wide Web thing? Is there anything more frustratingly messy, to an Aspie mind? ANYONE can just chuck ANYTHING ANYWHERE, there's basically no system.

It's like the messiest bedroom imaginable, that I have to sleep in but am not allowed to tidy up. Ever.

Are you okay with the WWW? I haven't met anyone yet who feels my pain.

Except for the dreaded bug/virus/other evil thing I don't feel your pain. The more music there is the happier I am.

yes, it is gloriously messy. but there is within the seeming chaos, a deep order.

really just a jejune thought of mine [a millions of other folks as well] that in things that seem chaotic there is really a hidden order underneath that is discernable only when one steps back and takes a longer view. (clicky)this is called chaos theory. it is all really beyond my pay grade. :duh: but you may well be up to speed to its study.

the internet doesnt need to be organized,
every person out there organizes it to their liking, often based on the quasi random nature one discovers things in.

The Internet can be whatever you want it to be.

The internet is a prime example of a functioning anarchy.
As John Gilmore said "the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it".

That it has, by allowing, for the most part, people to do what people do best. Which is whatever they feel like doing at that exact moment :P

Okay, so I'm the only one who feels the pain.

I can "pretend" that it really isn't that messy, by arranging it the way I like etc., but I still KNOW what a hideous rubbish dump it is underneath the facade. That is what bothers me, because intrinsically I desire orderliness and structure in everything. I would have though other aspies felt this way, it is interesting that I was wrong.

(And this has nothing to do with how I feel about freedom of speech, anarchy, or the good things the www has done for me. Despite any of this, the messiness still irks me.)

Don't worry though, I'll be okay.

it needs to be said, that there are logical/neat aspies, and emotional/messy aspies, and never the twain shall meet.

Well, it's def way better than real life.

If you think the web is all filled with idiots only, you should come to where I live and experience true idiocy on the street, coming especially from those people who don't even know what's it like using a computer, let alone browsing the internet, yet think they all know stuff, while they have never actually learned how to read in their entire lives.
