Do any of you have blogs?
I was just wondering if any of you have blogs where you write about your experiences with Autism? Why do you write one? I'm thinking about starting one (well, technically converting one that I made but didn't write in)...because I think I might be heading down an interesting road. My husband was just evaluated and they said that he has AS. I'm fairly certain that I have AS (trying to get evaluated), and my son's pediatrician (he's only 1) said that he might be showing signs of Autism already and is going to refer him to a specialist. We have discovered very quickly that there are not a lot of resources out there for adults with AS, and I'm kind of a proactive type of person (not in any kind of way that involves socializing though lol) ... so I'm thinking of sharing my experiences with my friends/family/whoever else to help raise Autism awareness and what not. So...Does anyone have a blog? I would love to read it if you share your link

I find your situation interesting. I have As, and I think my husband has AS, though he is undiagnosed. I wonder if people with AS then to gravitate towards each other and get on with each other better. Sorry fairly unrelated to your question...
I would like to blog, but I always have the same problem, I never know where to start...

I have thought about starting one, but am afraid of putting too much personal information online that could later be used against me in a job hunting situation. Worse than that, something I write may be used out of context in a legal proceeding where I am falsely accused of a crime and what I write is used to show my thought patterns and convince a jury of my guilt. Maybe I over think things too much, but I like to analyze every possible scenario when making a decision about something like this.

For us, I feel that this is absolutely the case. We met in a crowded room, and I think it was just such a huge relief for both of us to find another awkward person to try to fumble through a conversation with. Someone who understood
*hugs* I know what you mean, but I do think that you're over thinking it! I mean, you could reason that it would be used IN context in a legal proceeding as evidence in your favor, right?
You can use a pen name and not put location nor photos of yourself and your location. Also not use any real names for your wife and kids, if you have any children of course and married. You can also not say who you work for and what specific job you do.

True, and all of these things I do already. However, I look at how expansive the US government has gotten in terms of surveillance and I think I am better safe than sorry. Plus, I have had a bad experience in the past with the police. I reported a crime and got accused of having committed it. Now, they lacked enough evidence to arrest and charge me, but they made certain to make my life a living hell trying to pin it on me. I wound up having to leave my job because they kept coming to my work and harassing me. They even went so far as to take my garbage cans to sort through my trash. After that, I lost all trust in the government and the police. I don't think individual cops are bad but I will never again trust that my interactions with them will not go against me, especially considering how odd I come across as in unfamiliar social situations.

I met my husband online, we could talk without having to talk if you see what I mean, my only other long lasting friend also had AS. I find it easier to connect with them, we understand each other in a way we just can't with most people.. I've never heard of another couple who both have AS before, I have three kids (all NT as far as I'm aware) so I find your situation really interesting, thanks for sharing. xD
I've been thinking about starting a video blog on youtube. Mainly to get better at talking about personal things. I think that since I'd be talking to a camera instead of a person, it'd be easier and I'd be more relaxed. I've never tried anything like it before so I think even though it's just me talking to a camera I'd get nervous and tongue tied It's hard in general to get my deepest thoughts into words coherently
Since I'd be more relaxed and less nervous because I'm talking to a camera, I'd bet that to my friends I'd seem like a different person.
Now I'm gonna go look up webcams and video editing software
