Confusing similar words

Sometimes I confuse words that are similar in meaning (not in sound) with each other. For example, I mean to say "bus", but what I say is "train". I don't notice that, except when someone tells me. I also have a hard time with the words "shampoo" and "shower gel" and generally with words that almost mean the same. Do you do the same?

Yeah, actually. Sometimes I think my brain tries for a certain word, but gets a bit mucked up and jumps to the nearest convenient one.

Of course, there are times when I'll mix up words that have nothing to do with one another. Like the words 'doughnut' and 'banana'. Don't ask me why but every time I go to say one, the other ends up coming out

I do for those that are close in sound, but have different meanings, frustrating when have to quickly have to differentiate words what have the same amount of syllables and start and end with the same letter, such as grid and ground.
