Im going to be doing a Radio Show about my life on the Spectrum, the Spectrum itself, and all of the things that I fixate on (eventually), to try to show people near people like us how it is to be us.
Or at least me.

Much of it at first will Im sure be about answering queries of frustrated parents and whatnot. but whatever...

What Im REALLY struggling with is a NAME for the damned thing. Remember, it has to encompass everything that the show is about, but Im also going to have to say it aloud in a serious voice 5000 times a month, so it can't be cheesy or just suck.

The mane should imply a connection between Autism and the NT world, or at least the ability to view or have insight into the autie world for NTs.

And its going to be followed by "with Jim Wilson" whatever its called, here are as many not-quite-good Ideas as I can think of so far:

EDIT:
poll changed to best three options...

welll.... its kind of funny b/c Im usually really good at this game...

Any Help out there?

Call it "Lemuria" because you like chicken sandwich.
And let them interprate this as they want. Don't worry, they'll make a connection.

I don't know, but I will share my initial reactions, though I am not sure they will be helpful (and are not meant as criticisms, just my personal reactions)...

Clouded lens reminds me of cataracts
The rainbow bridge may be mistaken for something LGBT by many
The Shattered Looking Glass sounds broken, therefore I do not like it because my kids are not broken.
Autism Colored Glasses might work.
In Whispers doesn't make me think of autism
Whispered Riddle and Mumbled Riddle...similar to shattered looking glass.
Like MindBridge

How about something along the lines of (I know these are lame, but maybe they will help someone think)...
Different, not Defective
Thinking to the Beat of a Different Drummer
Wired, not Weird
Atypically Wired
A Different Train of Thought
A Different Kind of Different
Autie Insights

Thinking of names for things is hard.

Many ppl have sensory issues and aversions to sound. I was thinking about my bad ear days when everything seems too loud for me, and also how ppl on the spectrum seem to speak sotto voce, wich is where the mumbling stuff came from as well.

"A Different Drummer"...

Might be something here, as I actually AM a percussionist/drummer...

All the names in the OP can be put in the round file but one.

That one deserves serious consideration.

My own ideas

"Autism Audio"

"Brain Rainbow" ( or maybe just "Brainbow").

Thats it so far.

But your "Mindbridge" is pretty good.
Its short and to the point, and its easy to say.

And it convays an image of connecting two worlds.

Quote:
"the Spectrum"
"the Clouded lens"
"the Rainbow Bridge"
"the Shattered Looking Glass"
"Through the Lens: Autism Colored Glasses" (suggestion from a friend)
"In Whispers"
"The Whispered Riddle"
"A Mumbled Riddle"
"The Silent Scream" (good, but kind of a downer, no?)
"the Thought Bridge"
"MindBridge" (my current fave)

Of all of these I like "the Spectrum" and the "MindBridge" the best. A lot of the others seem like after saying them about 5000 times you'd hate them. So maybe:
"The Spectrum Mind Bridge"
"The Bridge to the Spectrum Mind"

I mean, it needs to describe the show for casual listeners (constant listener knows why they're there) but not be so annoying you'll be embarrassed about it in a month.

truthfully, Rainbow Bridge sounds like either a gay themed show or something about U.S./Canadian relations and many of the others aren't really playing up any kind of positive. Especially not that silent scream business. :)

This.

But you could just call it "autistic lense".

But since this is radio, and not tv or film, maybe the audio rather than the visual metaphor should be stressed.

"Silent Shouts" is more upbeat than "silent screams".

I wouldn't call it the rainbow bridge, since I know of a lot of people that use that term as the "afterlife" place for their pets, lol.

I would probably call it Wrong Planet, or something similar, since I feel that describes me best as an aspie.
