Romney did pick a candidate who will energize part of the country and appall the other part of the country. Romney made another step to try and get the vote of the more right-wing Republicans, even if it meant alienating the independents. While Ryan is a strong pick, his controversy and ambition will follow him in the race to the White House. Romney will be outshined by the much more youthful, socially skilled, and less moderate Paul Ryan.

Wouldn't it have made sense to pick a candidate to try to get independent voters? Paul Ryan helps with the tea party vote but it seems like it hurts him with the independents. I don't care for him.

I think Romney may be signalling the 1% that his VP pick is on their side, in order even more big donations.

Who even cares at this point. We either get banked owned candidate #1 or bank owned candidate #2. Anybody that buys into that you actually have a choice this election or that Obama/Romney are any different are an idiot. Paul Ryan is a fraud "conservative" that Fox News has made its low IQ audience believe is some sort of genius reformer when in reality he's just another big government forever war 'compassionate conservative' just like Bush.

I love how people who are engrossed in libertarian or liberal propaganda think they are any different from the people who are victim of the republican propaganda.

No matter how pro-wall street you think the Obama administration is there is no question that they want Romney-Ryan way more. The Wall Street Superpac money is very one sided. Because Romney wants major tax cuts in an era of low taxes and high deficits. That's why the Ryan plan, for all of it's cuts, can't even balance the budget for many decades. Because it greatly reduces revenue.

They are offering free ponies and the bigger your ranch the more you'll get.

Wouldn't the conservatives that Paul Ryan appeals to be all but guaranteed to vote for Romney anyway?

What does it matter tho? Obama is obviously a lackey to Wall Street and the corporate interests too.

The Ryan plan has no cuts, it has reductions in the growth of long term spending going forward. I don't think it actually cuts or ends one government program. He's still increasing spending just not as fast except in defense spending off course... I've heard someone describe it as "Obama will send us over the cliff at 100mph and Ryan will send us over it at 95mph".

Something I find really annoying about the Obama campaign is just how ridiculously disingenuous they are, pretending to be some sort of ultra-liberal class warrior now. Where were you when you had supermajorities in both houses of congress? Now he can play up his opposition as obstructionists even tho he probably was the most powerful president since LBJ maybe even FDR. Look what he actually did with this nearly unfettered power: bailouts, a bogus stimulus, more bailouts, a healthcare plan that ended up being little more than a massive handout to the insurance companies, what else? Cash for clunkers? lol, I guess people liked that. He extended the Bush tax cuts to that he was supposedly so against. Oh, Obama had a change of heart about gay marriage and immigration reform in an election year how convenient. All the while the Bush policies on the 'War on Terror' have continued and have actually been expanded, Guantanamo is still open, and the rest of our civil liberties are eroding even faster. The man is the quintessential politician, a sociopathic liar. I can understand people not wanting to support Ron Paul or Gary Johnson but I can't understand how somebody can in good faith support Barack Obama that isn't dangerously ignorant.

Honestly, I kind of hope Obama does win because there will be 4 more years of deadlock and he'll own this mess. Maybe the country will be ready for real change come 2016.

The cycle of disappointment will continue no matter what. When will everyone realize that politicians don't care about anyone except themselves?

True, Phil. But we humans are vain creatures? What is more motivated than a man who cares about their own ego?

You seem to have a very simplistic world view. What's more interesting is that you can't even imagine why this or that policy was enacted. You seem to think it was just to irritate you.

The Bush cuts must die and Obama is the only hope of that happening. Romney wants to double them and make them permanent. Obama wants half of them gone for now and he's obviously using the middle class cuts for stimulus. But they all need to go away. Romney will never kill them. Period.
