Usually when I hear my phone beep when I'm not expecting anyone to contact me, my first thought is "Oh crap, what have I forgotten to do? Where am I supposed to be?". Especially during the day (i.e. business hours).

Do you get happy or anxious initial thoughts when your phone beeps?

My reaction is more like: "WHO- WHAT- WHERE- oh... It's just my phone."

Ha! My phone is always turned off anyway unless I want to make a call.

My phone ran out of battery a year ago, and I haven't gotten around to charging it yet.

My thought is usually "Why must you contact me this way?" and that goes for texts and phone calls as I have to stop whatever I'm doing to deal with both. I'm a bad multitasker.

Yeah, especially when the text tone of the guy I like comes on.

I think I'm OK with text messages or e-mail notifications. It's just a short beep and usually from someone I'm expecting. I hate it when my phone rings and the number of the caller is unknown. That really stresses me out. I must admit I don't always pick up, unless they call more than once.

Sometimes I get excited and sometimes I get annoyed. It's usually the latter.

Probably putting it lightly in my case. Despite that I actually have an iPhone 4 for my little phone uses, has to be some irony there somewhere. Reminds me, I forget to text a friend back a few days ago. Do I text them back to commence endless texts, or let it slide so I can remain in peace. Decisions, decisions

It depends on whether I was expecting a text from someone mostly, but also who I'm expecting one from. If I'm not expecting a text and I hear my phone beep I get anxious because it means someone wants my attention and I don't want to be forced to give it to them. If I am expecting a text I'm not as anxious, and if I'm expecting one from my boyfriend I'm happy to hear my phone beep.

I always get happy when I receive a text.
