Bipolar and Art

I have recently found out I may have bipolar II and cannot decide whether or not to seek medication...while it can be furstrating having all the highs and lows I have found that the strong emotions contribute to my odd view of the world as much as aspergers does and as such makes the artwork even more unique and passionate. However, I don't know if it is worth going through the emotions as the artwork may not be made at the oppurtune times. Should I seek medication or not?
