I vote yes on that. Generally both people with AS and highly gifted people have either a strong preference or a strong aversion to certain things. I also experienced very little physical contact as a child, and like physical affection very much. However, the reverse: I am extremely sensitive to movements and noises, so for example I absolutely can't sleep at night with another person in the same bed (likely even in the same room, and sometimes even alone I still can't sleep!)
So cuddling time and sleeping time have to be very compartmentalized; which is not often well received by NTs.
