boom boxes are handy if you go places/work outside and want ambient music. I don't play records to listen to them, only to transcribe them onto digital media and/or apply audio restoration to them.

I wish you could build yourself a DeLorean, and have some kid with a down vest stop by your place, on his way to 1955.....

thank you :flower: but i'd rather go forwards in time to "2015" like what was depicted in part II, at least that version of 2015 with the flying cars and holographic billboards and such. what year do you want to go forward to? :bounce:

I wonder who else here ever used their VHS-HiFi decks to record music programs with off the radio?

I disn't know they were considered "Old fashion" until someone looked round our house recently as Mum has it for sale, and whilw in our garage they said "No one uses them any more" whils pointing at our video tapes and told us we needed to chuck them! We still use them! Wondered why they have dissapeared from shops and the video hire places have closed. Guess it is all DVD hire these days! (We do have a DVD player but we can't play those blue rays that some people have). :D

I believe at this point that streaming has largely replaced any sort of physical distribution methods, whether they be tapes or disks.

Like Netflix.
The video isn't stored locally, it's downloaded as it plays but not stored at the user's end.

I own a hifi thing. I love it. It has twin cassette deck.

It's this exact model.

We had an 8 track player when I was a kid. That's how antique my house was.

8 track is like prehistoric cassette player type thing for those who don't know
