just glanced over the responses and noticed that someone has mentioned HER fur coats in all her postings. aren't you special. happens her husband is in the big house awaiting the needle (i think that's right).....probably he bought her the coats out of criminal activity. wow, she's really special!

been to china, vietnam, cambodia etc and the chinese are especially cruel to animals. they eat dogs and cats and just throw them into boiling water to kill them. for fun. not the chinese you see on television, these are the leftovers from the communes and have little education and live like the people in the american movie 'deliverance'. the rural koreans are very unique in how they kill dogs before eating them......they like to beat them to death because they think it makes the meat taste better (adrenaline release) and that it a natural viagra. love those koreans.

the fur trade, practiced by russian concerns in all the former soviet countries, is just sickening. they might whack a starving animal with a club, skin it, and throw it on a pile over other animals and let it die slowly in extreme agony. i've seen the films. sometimes they shock them and laugh as they howl in pain while being skinned. once again, not the russian oil billionaires but the peasants who live their miserable lives wanting to hurt animals just because they can.

if you wear fur, you are just like the scum who like to see animals tortured.

subjects for discussion like this are a waste of time. either you care about animals being tortured or you don't. i was at a protest two weeks ago and found maybe one percent of the humans approached would listen to what we had to say or take a handout. those of you who care about animals will understand that most humans do not want to see, hear about or read that animals are being mistreated. in their weird egocentric minds, if they do not know about something....then it is not happening. i'm at a loss to explain that. i'm glad i'm at a loss to explain that.

Looks like you should have done more than glance at the responses, actually read them so you fully comprehend it. OOM made this topic and started off by saying she has fur coats, she never said she was special for having them. Her ex is awaiting the needle. The coats were bought second hand! (She probably bought them, but that isn't concrete info right there)

If you eat meat, you are just like the scum who like to eat human meat. If you buy apple or nike products, you are just like the scum who like to enforce child labor. If you drive over the speed limit, you are just like the scum who like to drive drunk. If you eat fast food, you are just like the scum that are part of the obesity epidemic.

Did you not read anything I said other than those two little facts, one of which you got wrong? The furs I have, I found second hand and bought them. They were cheap so I could afford them. I would never be able to buy a new one. These came from junk stores where most of my clothing comes from.

My husband isn't in prison. My ex husband who I was married to for about a year while I was a teenager is in prison. My husband is an electrician and I'm a housewife and we have four kids, three of which are still at home, hence my clothes and coats etc come from the thrift store. No new fur coats for me.

I saw them there while browsing and bought them. If you bother to read this, now you know.

Your dislike of Koreans and what Asian people eat have nothing to do with fur. Why is this here?

the fur trade, practiced by russian concerns in all the former soviet countries, is just sickening. they might whack a starving animal with a club, skin it, and throw it on a pile over other animals and let it die slowly in extreme agony. i've seen the films. sometimes they shock them and laugh as they howl in pain while being skinned. once again, not the russian oil billionaires but the peasants who live their miserable lives wanting to hurt animals just because they can.

I've always imagined that hey raise them on farms like they do food animals and kill them quickly. I would think that would be cheaper and produce better quality fur and also be much more humane for the animals.

if you wear fur, you are just like the scum who like to see animals tortured.

That's quite a leap. That almost makes you the Evil Kineval of logic, jumping your Batmobile over a football field's length of facts. How exactly does me seeing a fur coat at a thrift store, buying it and wearing it, make me just like a sociopath who enjoys watching animals being tortured? My money for the coat didn't go to the furriers or benefit the fur trade in any way. It went to Hannah Home and King's Ranch, which runs the thrift store to fund a shelter for abused women and one for abused and neglected children. That makes me like watching animal torture?

If it's a waste of time, why did you join in? Just to insult and post that it's a waste of time?

Fat people are "scum"?
So you hate roughly half the people you see?
How about this - haters are scum.

^^ That's an extremely literal interpretation of what was not said at all: it was just one of many things used - none of them a serious assertion - to illustrate the huge leap of logic involved in equating anyone wearing fur with people who like to see animals tortured.

Any one who eats meat or uses animal bone in any way has no business objecting to fur.

Animals are there in nature and can be taken and used. We don't have to be cruel and nasty about it, but animal stuff is useful for humans and therefore will be used.

So how do you feel about some humans creating an entirely new species(not biological but robotic) which are even more intelligent than humans, along with being physically stronger since they are made of metal, who use humans the way humans use animals?

I honestly cannot explain as it seems so very irrational. But the best insight I can offer is that a person might want to do this because of a desire to play God. Just as people have started apocalyptic cults with the objective of bringing about the end of the world as we know it.

When this species is created, ask me about it. I do not waste my time with silly speculation.

Come to think of it ruveyn, you most likely won't live to see it. But perhaps your grand children will; or at least their descendents will!

You speculate about fusion and space travel but are unwilling to speculate about sentient robots? LOLz

As long as the humans have a fool proof kill switch to shut off these thingies, I see no problem with it.

So you presume that NO ONE might deliberately create a sentient machine that has no such foolproof kill switch. Well, that's extremely naive to say the least.
