Though I am of mixed "race" (white and Asian -- I prefer to use the term species as opposed to race, since all colors of people are still people, like different colors of perch are still perch), I am extremely pale (the only Asiatic features I possess involve cranial morphology and result in the "squiny eyes" and a more Asiatic-looking nose. When I was a child and would actually spend time outside, my skin would turn olive. Now it's a pale yellowish-white, with great emphasis on the white (like corpses).

Humans are a single species, according to the official taxonomic classification system.

Image

As you can see, the lowest common classification is "Species". The word "Race" is arbitrarily applied to humans in the same way that "Breed" is applied to animals, and mainly refers to cosmetic differences like coloration, facial structure, and body proportions -- all irrelevant in a species that can interbreed between races.

I'm a "Mixed-Breed" person -- mostly northern European, with elements of African, Mediterranean, and Native-American (Amerind) genetics in my DNA.

Currently, my coloration is "Pale", but if I spend a few hours each day in direct sunlight, I will gradually become "Dark".

If I could figure that out I wouldn't waste so much money on the wrong shades of makeup. 8O

I am generally two different shade of the color I am though. It's called a "rider's tan". Glowing pale shade on the legs and wherever the polo shirt covers. Deeper shade on the face(except the forehead because of the helmet), neck and arms; right up to the glove line, So Flattering, right?

See through. :P
When I read about the differences in skeleton and immune system in different races, I do wonder if we're all made up of many subspecies, because if we were categorising another animal we'd be naming all the subspecies by now. I think personal fears and taboos and such stop human biologists doing the same thing if I'm honest.

Pale, but not superbly pale. If I go outside, I don't really burn unless I sit in the exact same spot for two hours.

I also inherited what is technically a giant birthmark, but makes it look like my goosebumps are out. People either think I burned my arms, legs, and face, or that I'm sick.

I'd say I'm more of a missing link or evolutionary dead end at this point. :)

I suppose you could say that I'm white. I'm more tanned but not exactly swarthy either. I'm multiracial though.

That's me as well.

I look "white" but am noticeably darker than the rest of the white side of my family.

I'm white, but not superbly pale. It's strange, because other people who never leave the house are always pale.
