Recently I've been on a generally high protein, low carb diet. By generally I mean I stick to the diet as a whole but if I want a McDonalds or to go for a beer I'll do it without worrying about the additional carbs.

The diet was aimed at losing weight; which has been coming down slowly but I've noticed that my attention, mood and overall performance in work have increased significantly! I've always lived on a high carb diet as I love rice, beans, spaghetti, bread and cheese but since cutting these out (for the most part) I've never felt better.

I have aspergers and add so really delighted at this development. However I was wondering if this is a common finding for others on the spectrum and whether following a high protein, low carb diet over a long period of time is healthy?

I don't know if it's common, but it's true for me. I try to take the same approach, understanding that low glycemic is better for me, though not necessarily convenient for others.
