Asperger Syndrome is a variant of classical autism which doesn't include the expressive and receptive language delays that are required for a classical autism diagnosis. So, in a sense, Asperger Syndrome is autism!

I think he meant to say that is one of the symptoms and I incline to believe that as I always knew autists tend to wear the same shoes.
It could be just one of the symptoms but, obviously, it is not always true.

No, just wanted to ironically say that it is not a real problem, because the other problems are much much worse.
Nobody really looks very much at shoes anyway

Yeah, i think that too. But sometimes the attitude is more important than height.

So it is more of an attitude (or self esteem) problem, rather than a height problem.
Usually, taller people are more confident and besides this, many folks feel intimidated around them if attitude comes along with an imposing appearance.

But if you're tall and shy or awkward, it doesn't make too much difference.

Usually, human relations are mainly based on fear.

Well Im tall, too. And I have really trouble with self esteem.
Not generally, just now, because I had a lot of changes in my life, behave strangely even from my perspective how I have been before.
People react on that and that makes me feel bad about my self.

Still I don¨'t have trouble talking to people, just it feels like they disconnected from me, because I was / am too strange.
My profs started to hate me and put me in a box. Great.

Maybe you're right in that direction that they'll isolate you because they fear you.
But general relations are without fear.

What are the symptoms of severe aspergers? For instance not being able too leave your house without having an anxiety attack when you come across a crowd or a large group of people.

Can you go from severe too mild in the course of your lifetime?

Isn't that agoraphobia or severe social anxiety?
You can have that and not have severe Aspergers.
Severe AS should depend on the severity on AS symptoms.

I.e spending all day on interests, finding it impossible to break out; poor communication skills, either saying too much impulsively, talking only about your interests, being unable to read body language or having any concept of social skills, getting into arguments, seeming to have rude behaviour, etc.

My friend who was a childcare worker said she knew kids with severe AS who could barely read or write, but I'd put that down as a learning disorder.

I have HFA but I don't think it's severe, and I have sporadic intense anxiety, paranoia and agoraphobia.

But however if I couldn't find my pair, I'd be disappointed I had to wear something else until I find them but I wouldn't meltdown about it or refuse to go anywhere. I think that's when it becomes an AS symptom, the inflexibility.

Really that is a problem. Because if you wear always the same shoes they'll go broken quickly. And than you'll have to go and buy new ones, again!

And?

If you buy lots of shoes at once, you've still spent lots of money on shoes.

Isn't that normal?

You probably mean that also NTs wear the same shoes a lot?
They'll change shoes much faster, so maybe that's why I think they use more shoes...?

Good question.

Though women tend to have many shoes. But about men I am not sure at all.
They'll have too shoes for every single purpose, where I would still take my normal shoes...

I'd wear my shoes until they are really dead (Leaking or lifting off)

Maybe I walk also differently which is not good for the shoes...

I meant isn't it normal wear the same shoes and they go broken quickly and then you have to go out and buy a new pair again. You made it sound like lot of people wouldn't wear the same shoes and have to go out and buy a new pair again because the broke down quickly.

I wear my shoes until they start to dig into my skin because the padding part wears out and then the hard part digs in and it gives me blisters. I put in toilet paper for padding until I get a new pair. One time I got a new pair because they were ripped. I am not sure how many shoes I go through a year. I have maybe gotten new shoes twice since the current job I have had. I find that if I wear them every single day when I go to work, they wear out a lot quicker. A pair I had at my last job lasted me for two years but they were so worn out. I just tossed them out when I quit. I had no use for black shoes. Reason why I had them was because black shoes were required so I got them and they were 50 bucks. So I only used them for work. I would change into them when I get there and then out of them when I leave. I also know another cue for needing new shoes is if your feet start to get sore from lot of walking, it just means your shoes are worn so they don't give you the support anymore your feet needs.

I've worn my shoes until the bottom part melted and the top part had holes. I've been cut in the back of my heel. Right now I have shoes in which the padding comes out easily. I'm not getting new shoes because to me they still function fine and I don't want to spend the extra money yet.

BTW you can fix them if they have small cracks or I saw it ones on TV. Superglue

Actually, superglue won't hold up when it starts raining. There, is, however, stuff (that is sold at stores like Cabelas) called Shoe Goop (according to my dad they use it to not just repair shoes, but also to make leaky fishing waders airtight again). Which reminds me that he promised to get me some and hasn't yet after I busted my shoe.

In relation to wearing of shoes, I am picky about my shoes. But I do weird things like roll my feet when I walk (as well as somewhat twisting my left leg as well), and some shoes are not designed appropriately to accommodate for that.

Once I do find shoes I will wear, I have like 30 pairs of them. Not of the same shoe style, but of the ones I deem able to wear. But there are some clear favorites, like the wide-band elastic small platform slides (that I busted and need to repair before putting on again), and the white platform keds like shoes (that are cracking and falling apart in their uppers, sadly, and the heels are scraped around the edges lol but they are THE MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES and I will only give them up when they die a horrible death), as well as these black square-toe stacked-heel naturalizer boots that I've essentially spent the last 5 years of my life living in. I guess you could say, if you looked at my closet, that I'm a "fashionable" aspie-- I can throw together some pretty good classy outfits, but, I have my go-to's for when I need structure, sameness, and comfort.

Taller people get further in society and are happier. :(

I have no idea where you got that assertion from. It sounds like a bunch of advertising hogwash.
I don't know how you think I should have confidence as someone who is 5'2". Personally I wear heelly shoes since I'm dating someone who happens to be 10" taller than me, and sometimes if I can't get my sister to hem my pants, they're a bit longer (the pants that seem to naturally run in my size don't take into account that I'm not grandma when it comes to style, so a lot of time it's either get the normal non-petite size and wear heels or have my sister hem it up)

My bf is 6' and he's really shy and people don't know what to make of him for it. my two aspie friends are tall (one's 6' and the other is 6'4") and always feel like because of their height, everyone in the room stops and stares at them and it makes them feel uncomfortable.

I have worn the same type of shoes for the last 5 years. I once got a different type of shoe and ended up wearing my beat up vans again. when im working outdoors I wear redwing boots when I ride motorcycles I wear my Milwaukee boots. im thinking about just stockpiling multiple pairs of the same shoe.
