I like to spray just enough bug killer on a fly to make it buzz around for a while with it's wings looking weird. It falls to the floor and does it's thing. But, sometimes I have to put it out of it's misery if this goes on too long. But, they usually die within 10 or 15 minutes. I love to see Silver Fish squirm around on the wall for a while before they let go and fall to the floor. Than I pick the buggers up with a piece of toilet paper and drop them in the toilet.

I don't kill flies. My cats handle that. :)

I usually just smack them with my hands.

Lock them in a window.

I avoid killing flies and mosquitoes. Houseflies have not appeared in my house often in the last 6 years since I moved in here. Flies that usually live outside by manage to get into my house, such as hoverflies and blow-flies, I'll usually catch with a glass and a piece of paper, then take them outside.

I do the same with mosquitoes, they're generally not live-threatening in our area, so I have no beef with them.

fly's do a backwards sommersault as they take off, thus they need not be slapped directly, just clap above them and they fly right into it, distance 1-3 cm varies by flyspeed.

other than that i usualy dont bother unless it is really getting on my nerves,

Machine-guns are generally quite effective; failing that a flame-thrower.

I don't generally need to kill flies, as they aren't frequently in my house. I have heard of electric flyswatters. Sounds like a child discipline nightmare.

To you, this is a joke. To me, it's just good advice.

I've used hairspray and a lighter before. Bug spray just isn't quick enough.

Bugs freak me the holy hell out.

That one is hilarious! What is it called when something is over engineered? LMAO!

TallyMan, aren't you afraid you might destroy everything except the fly wth a machine gun?
