What do you think of Corporal Punishment for Adults?

Based on another recent poll, it seems that a fair number of people favor beating children, but not adults.

I think that in Saudi Arabia, it is just the opposite: parents typically do not beat their children, but boy do adult criminals get violent punishments.

From what I understand, one result of this is that a Saudi shopkeeper can walk away and leave his shop unlocked and unattended, and nothing will be stolen. Very few people want their hands amputated with a sword.

violence is bad no matter what. it is never a good thing.

I favor whipping, amputation and execution for trolls.

That's a bit strict. For me, a big criminal could do hard work or be a victim of life imprisonment. To be honest, pain and suffering after the sentence is a lot worse than getting killed. Who knows, getting amputated doesn't directly mean that the crime perpetrator will stop commiting crimes.

Thought this was interesting. I guess it depends on someone's personality, but I would attend the detention.
