do you have Learning Disabilities.

I for one have several Learning Disabilities. and find it ti be the most frustrating aspect of life. but no communities seem to exist for adults with learning Disabilities. i am curious to see how many of you also have Learning Disabilities. is it common for people with asperger's to also have learning Disabilities.

P.S. for thews of you that are interested. a friend and I are trying to create a community for people with learning Disabilities. PHYCRUX

Its cool your trying to create a community but its really hard to start new places and such, usually its good to just stay in places where you have something in commen with people like here, there is a lot of people with difference and such.

But goodluck on the project. Hopefully you will get it going.

There is no community for Learning Disabilites....interesting.

I'm not sure if this is considered a learning disability or not (I've never been diagnosed with anything other than autism). I cannot understand abstract math and science concepts though. Even though I could read before I could talk, I don't always comprehend what I am reading and have to re-read several times over (even then, I still don't always "get it"). I also have trouble comprehending some oral lectures/directions.

i can not be instructed. i can not learn anything that is told to me.
i know may things about the universe i live in, but it is still only personal speculation beheld by only me as far as i know.

I probably have one. Math isn't my strong point, but I've managed to test into college Calculus...somehow.

I don't but my mum and sister both have dyslexia. My mum spent her whole childhood being told she was lazy and stupid of which she is neither by a really long way because dyslexia wasn't diagnosed then. It wasn't until my sister was diagnosed when little that my mum also was diagnosed. It had a big impact on my mum's self esteem. As a result it's something I really feel strongly about in terms of raising awareness of and I wish you lots of luck. x

i was dx'ed w/ learning disorder, then a year later i was re-dx'ed w/ developmental disorder and it came w/ learning disorders.
it is very hard for me to learn from just being told something, if i can't picture it in my head then i have little chance to get it right the first time.

I've got a mild learning disability as well as Aspergers, Tourettes, ADHD, OCD and dyspraxia.
