No. It is excluded in the definition (prime must be >1).

Yes, you're right. Indeed, if it was a prime, then for example, 10 = 5 × 2 × 1 × 1 × 1 × … an infinite sequence of primes.
And still the number 1 is not divisible by any other integer. There's something demonic about this little number.

There's something strange about the prime 2, too. Being the only even prime it makes it possible that all even numbers can be expressed as a product of primes. The number 2 is indivisible but it is in a way cuttable in half. The subset of even primes is an infinitely small fraction of the set of all primes. This is confusing and I don't like the idea.

That's why I like it--it's the odd duck out. Even numbers usually creep me out for some reason, but 2 is different...it's friendly somehow.

2, because it's the only even prime number, although generally I prefer odd numbers. :)

I like 3. For some reason, things always seem more orderly to me when they're divided into threes.

That's actually very cool.

But it's still 13 for me.

Not a prime- in the mathamatical sense.

Its divisible by five.

Oh I forgot.

Its the year that the Kinks formed.

So that makes it prime.

Never mind.

The Kinks formed earlier than that. 1963, I think (as the Ravens, they became The Kinks in '64).

2. It's also a power of 2, which is what really makes it important to me.

My favorite is all the known prime numbers multiplied together, plus one.
