I love them. Right now, YouTube is about my only option for them, but I like ones on cultures, religions, subcultures, eras in history etc.

What kind do you like, and do you want to post your favorites or reccommendations from YouTube here?

I also love documentaries, and on similar subjects (as well as other subjects).

I've never really considered myself a huge "occult person," but it is an interesting topic to me. Here's a documentary about Aleister Crowley that I watched not too long ago:

I used to watch historical documentaries on The History Channel - back when they still played shows about history.
But I also love documentaries about literary figures, such as H.P. Lovecraft, or William Burroughs.

Shows about history on the History Channel - what a quaint idea. Kind of like music on MTV.

^^^ Yeah.... I really miss the old History channel. :(

American Experience from PBS is a good historical documentary series.

I also love documentaries on social science, animal behavior, psychology, pop culture, politics and the like.

The Devil and Daniel Johnston
is one of my all time favorites! Very interesting and quite tragic.

You can watch in online here: http://vimeo.com/40895276

What They Don'tWant You to Know
-It's a mini-series of YouTube videos talking about topics like conspiracy theories and things the government might not want the public to know. Some of it is lame but some of the episodes are quite interesting.

Ukraine's Forgotten Children
-It's a documentary about how people in the Ukraine treat children in the orphanages and mental institutions. It's quite sad but they're trying to send out awareness to people about the situation.

Vice
-Vice has some good documentaries from sub-cultures to the world's most dangerous drug.

There are a lot more but these are all I can think of right now.

I like the science ones mainly. The BBC Horizon series is good and a lot of them are on youtube.

There are lots of those kinds of documentaries. Some of the others are from countries that are now EU members: Czech Republic (the Czech one was shot after that country joined the EU), Bulgaria and Romania.

I like documentaries about mathematics. The ones about astronomy and astrophysics don't do it for me anymore, because when I was 14/15 I read about that exaustively. I also like documentaries about intelectualy gifted people. There was a very good one called Child Genius, I think, from Chanel 4 in the UK. But my favorite documentaries got to be the ones about Kim Peek ("Kim Peek - The Real Rain Man") and Daniel Tammet ("The Boy with the Incredible Brain"). I liked these documentaries before I knew I am an aspie. The Daniel Tammet one is particularly impressive! Too bad his main interest is languages. He has a natural talent for number theory. Just as a teaser, in the documentary it describes how in just a few weeks memorized 22500 digits of pi. He took more than 5 hours to recite the whole thing.

My favorite kinds of documentaries are about creative and/or eccentric people, like In The Realms of the Unreal, which is about outsider artist Henry Darger, and I Think We're Alone Now, which is about two separate people who are completely obsessed with 80s pop star Tiffany.
