^^^^^^Do each of them have a symbolic meaning?
I've done some Buddhist ceremonies that fundamentalist Christians would be alarmed at,but they are symbolic so I'm guessing you may have some of that in your beliefs also.
Like the Wrathful Dakini Throma. We don't usually display images of her openly, some people won't understand and they think she's real.

There isn't one.

Then what's the point of having rules if any infraction thereof incurs no penalty?

There are none because there are no rules.

So ... the first rule of the Satanic Church is that there are no other rules ...

And I thought only Abrahmic religions made no sense.

Sorry. Should I have put that in quotes to make it clearer I only meant to paraphrase the inevitable reply that was bound to come anyway?

I can be too subtle in my facetiousness sometimes.

I remember I read some years ago about the Satanic Church and what it stood for; as far as I remember they didn't actually worship anyone.

From the Church of Satan homepage:

Quote:
Anton LaVey explained in his classic work The Satanic Bible, Man—using his brain—invented all the Gods, doing so because many of our species cannot accept or control their personal egos, feeling compelled to conjure up one or a multiplicity of characters who can act without hindrance or guilt upon whims and desires. All Gods are thus externalized forms, magnified projections of the true nature of their creators, personifying aspects of the universe or personal temperaments which many of their followers find to be troubling. Worshipping any God is thus worshipping by proxy those who invented that God. Since the Satanist understands that all Gods are fiction, instead of bending a knee in worship to—or seeking friendship or unity with—such mythical entities, he places himself at the center of his own subjective universe as his own highest value.

I don't have time to dig deeper than that right now, but that "horned god" and "demon worshipping" sounds like nonsense to me :?. I remember one part where they said sometimes they did rituals and stuff out of a certain human need of mysticism, but they didn't actually believe in external supernatural entities. It's been two years since I read about it though

The Church of Satan is an explicitly atheist/nontheist organization founded by Anton Szandor LaVey (aka Howard Stanton Lavey) . They don't pray to "demons" or view Crowley as a "prophet" (more likely, a nut). In reality it is more like a lite blend of Ayn Rand and Nietzsche with some short rituals for fun and celebration. They view "Satan" as a personification of the ego and the philosophy is based upon rational self-interest. You can get the actual details in the "Satanic Bible" by LaVey and the "Satanic Scriptures" by Peter Gilmore, the current High Priest of the Church of Satan. The CoS actually has a sociopolitical philosophy which is the main thrust of this group:
