My taste in music... is more odd than my taste in movies. My favorite genres are:

80's - This includes the underrated Hair Metal genre (yes I like it!)
90's - I grew up with their music as well as 80's.
J-Pop - That kind of music is just too catchy.

DEATH METAL – Morbid Angel, Mortem, Death, Nocturnus, Deicide, Vital Remains, Acheron, Infester, Entombed, Gorguts, Immortalis, Incantation, Atheist, Dead Congregation, (old) At the Gates, Eucharist, Necrophobic (melodic death/black), Unanimated, Goatlord (death/doom), Pungent Stench, Autopsy, Masacre, Massacra, Nuclear Death (dm/grind), Nunslaughter etc.

THRASH METAL – Slayer, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Necrodeath (death/thrash), Fearless Iranians From Hell, Slaughter, Razor, Sarcofago (black/thrash), Mutilator, Holocausto, Necronomicon, Dark Angel, Voivod, Bulldozer (speed/thrash/black), Carnivore, Nuclear Assault, Numskull (death/thrash), Nocturnal Graves (black/thrash), Vomitor (black/thrash), Vulcano etc.

Metal is my favourite genre and those are the three sub-genres I probably listen to the most. A lot of these bands either changed styles during their careers or have had other influences in their music at some time or another but there’s a basic list of some favourite artists of mine.
I like bits of other stuff though too like neofolk, martial, alternative rock/grunge, heavy metal, doom metal, some punk and shoegaze

My favorite genre is Rock, favorite subgenre of Rock is Metal, favorite subgenre of Metal is Symphonic. For stuff of a completely different domain I also like New Wave, and sort of ambient, minimal, aetheral stuff.

I'm a huge fan of classical, everything from Renaissance to present ;). There's so much to explore that it never gets old. If I listened to a new classical piece every day for the rest of my life, I'd still have some left to listen to lol. I also love folk/folk rock, but more of the style popularized in the late 60s/early 70s that doesn't seem to be practiced much anymore. The songwriting style back then was often just so much more intimate and poetic than today. And I love the blues as well! Mainly post-war electric blues, but some of the pure acoustic or older styles are pretty powerful too, like Lightnin' Hopkins or old John Lee Hooker.

I tend to like a lot of experimental music. Lot's of layers and an unconventional structure. Noise rock, noise pop, neo-psychedelia, freak folk, free jazz, avant-garde, and stuff.
