You cannot get the cloth you used to wear, anymore, because the f****d up NT's are ruling all the corporations.

They change, shift, make new styles, and always makes something new, and "trendy". I can no longer buy the same type of just normal clothing as I used to wear, without a lot of advertisements, buttons and other stupid things. Its impossible nowadays.

The NT's also change their behavior and their interest, something that makes me lonely.

I used to have about 3 close friends. Now I only have a POSSIBLE 1 friend left, who MIGHT be the same as he used to be. The other 2 don't have the same interests before (computer games etc.) but go out and drink alcohole.

Friend 1: Known him since my early childhood. Always played together when my parents visisted his parents at the other end of the country.

Today: Not the same who likes to play Playstation. He's rarely home.

Friend 2: Known him since my childhood. Always made something together. Always met at least once a year, to celebration of the New Year.

Today: Moved to the other side of the country.

My maternal grandmother used to be the same. Always joyful, always full of funny things, always had something to entertain me. Always loved me. She passed away in july, 2005 because of cancer.

My paternal grandfather used to play cards with me when I visited my grandparents, at the other end of the country.

Today: Sick, tired and old and cannot even watch TV or read the newspaper. Is at hospital.

When I die I will have a conversation with God about this. Why the hell did he make a world where everything and everybody changes? Why can't we just stop the time somewhat, and live the same year, year, after year, after year. Only small details might be different from the old ones, but basically, the babies stay babies, the eldery stay eldery, and never passes away. My age is turned backwards to 18 years of age. The styles of clothes never changes.

That doesn't sound like an NT thing. Are you trying to say that aspies not smart enough to come up with a way to convince consumers to continue to buy the same thing over and over again just by changing small details and marketing them differently? I thought aspies were the detail people.

Alex,

I know EXACTLY where dktekno is coming from here, and it IS a stereotypical Aspie concern! With me?

NOTHING is double hemmed anymore except for some VERY high priced products, and products that aren't accepted anymore.

Have you ever worn new dress slacks? You feel NAKED, and the hemming is so bad you feel they are going to just fall apart!

ALSO, I like PLAIN fabrics, and PLAIN fronts! Sometimes it is near impossible to get that!

Shoes are now made to look super fancy. The dress and tennis shoes I used to love were UBIQUITOUS, high quality, and CHEAP! Today, they are rare, lower quality, and sometimes cost a lot.

As for ties? I wear a kind of mid width tie, and hopefully nobody will notice, but I couldn't care less about the "fashion"! I don't even like ties. If not for the fact it is considered cheap and stupid, I would use clipon ties to maintain the look while avoiding the noose!

Even ZIPPERS that are quality are RARE. I looked around for MONTHS for my ideal suicase(they USED to be cheap and COMMON). I found one! Just the suitcase I wanted cost $1200USD!! !! Compare this with the standard one I bought for $50USD! The $1200 one had this lousy designer fabric.

Even FOOD! I USED to LOVE braunschweiger. I swear, they MUST have changed the seasoning. That got me to look at the label and I basically swore off of it.

NTs apparantly LOVE certain types of change. Even CLINTON got all the democrats to say everyone wants CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE! I kept SCREAMING, NO!! !! ! NOBODY likes change! Change, all other things equal, is BAD! People want IMPROVEMENT! If that requires change, so be it. Otherwise, FORGET CHANGE!

People do things like create transformer plugs, or remove cigarette outlets in cars, or make them fancier, etc.... and old conventions are BROKEN! Even SUBTLE changes can wreak havok if not done right.

Steve

Hi alex et al. This is my first post. I don't think what's his name was implying anything potenrially disparaging about the intelligence of AS people & i must beg to differ upon another point you made; it is not about whether or not 'we' can convince 'them' to stop all the useless and confusing changes (usually for the worse like too low ass-crack exposing jeans with gross lower back tatoos & belly tops with belly-button earrings!). Due to their different (and faulty) wiring, they are beseiged by a constant sense of malaise in the presence of constant and steadfast factors. Perhaps this lack of novelty upon which to focus forces them into an uncomfortable introspective state which in turn compels them to contemplate that which they are trying to evade? So many Nt's seem only content in flashing lights and constant noise environments like clubs, parties, raves, casino's, amusement parks etc. Anywhere that their own thoughts are blocked out and the focus is entirely social and external. Alone, they cease to exist! Many of us AS people are in the reverse situation; we cease to exist in flashy changing environments where we must disappear as individuals while focussing on external stimuli. To me, this is an oxymoron! Despite the 'differentness' of being an AS minority, I prefer our predicament to theirs. What dark thoughts and soullessness must haunt them that they cannot stand being alone in their own minds? where getting lost in their own thoughts is terrifying?

If it wasn't because I get scared when I feel the effects of alcohol, I'd begin drinking.

Fashion, a form of ugliness so intolerable...

I hate fashion!, fashion this fashion that, magazines all about fashion 'SICK'. Alot of people seem to focus on the materialistic world and not on the small things in life. Alot of people, as I don't want to say everyone, are cought up in what is trendy and what is not. People bully and tease others for wearing the things that are not fashionable or not in season. Who the hell do they think they are? going around telling people what they should or shouldn't be wearing. We are all individuals, therefore we all have different preferences in the clothes we like. Nobody and I mean nobody can ever tell me what I should be wearing, It's my choice and I will not back down.

I hate change. When I was a young teenager, I learned to dance. Then they invented a new dance. I gave up dancing. Did they think I was going to learn a new dance every week? Same with clothes. These are perfectly good clothes and I don't care about fashion. In the office, I noticed that any change in routine makes me angry - maybe that's an aspie thing, too.

re marketing. What would be the demographics of the aspie market? Big spenders? Influential?

If we became a strong market, then we wouldn't be marginalized any more. But isn't it more complicated than that?

I don't mind change. Sometimes I even prefer it.

To Steve: I have the same problem with buying shirts. Everything has to have a bunch of words and pictures on them nowadays...

I stocked up on a variety of plain colored shirts at Target for around 8 dollars each. I won't have to buy any shirts for a while now.

I hate shirts with brands written on them. If we're going to be walking advertisements for a company, they should be paying US, not the other way around.

I need to have the same type of clothing to be comfortable :)

A certain type of sneakers + cargo pants + hoodie I've worn this for like.. over half my life. And I'm not stopping yet :P Plus the colors are always the same. If it's not Blue/Black/Grey I'm probably not wearing it. :P

Yeah err back to the topic.. I can deal with change.. bring it on!! :x

You know why they do it-to make money. They create a fashion industry, say what's "in2 and then change it every week/forghtnight to encourage you to spend more money so you can be "in". Same wuith advertising, They pay a so-called celebrity to wear their stuff in ads, and people seem to think that wearing that brand makes them cooler/better/smarter then eveyone else yet all it does is show how easily-led/insecure/sad/self-important they are.

I wear what looks good and feels good on me. I have a pair of shell trousers i wear in Winter because they're warm. they are SO "out of fashion, but do I care? Not at all! *I'm* the warm-legged oerson!

But yes, try and get a decent;y-stitched garment, or one without a slogan or design on it, is almost impossible! You find something you're comfortable wearing and by the time you need to replace it, it's no longer available! GAH!
