Not gun sickness (that statement doesn't make sense)

Rather, a murderous man

Brain-sickness is more like it.

My hometown is only 15 minutes away. Webster is a close-knit community. Very sad.

Yes, let's use the death of two heroes to further the gun control cause.

I'd rather see their deaths as the motivating factor behind better programs for detection and treatment of the criminally insane.

This crime could not have occurred without a gun.

A knife could not have been used to do this.

A club could not have been used to do this.

A vehicle could not have been used to do this.

No other object than a projectile weapon could have been used to do this.

Gun sickness cannot occur without a person and a gun.

I am utterly appalled that you are immediately politicizing he death of two firefighters.

Excuse me, but where in any medical journal is the term "Gun-Sickness" defined?

You're politicizing the issue, and that sucks.

Seconded.

The least you could do is let the police process the crime scene first.

If the goal is to kill people, firearms are fairly limiting.

Look at the 9/11 terrorists. They didn't need firearms and they killed a whole lot more people than they could have killed with firearms. And the number of people killed is nothing compared to the amount of terror and impact on our lives created by their deeds.

Remember that the worst school killing in US history didn't depend on firearms. In that one, the perp set off a bomb in the school about an hour after it opened for the day. He had reportedly put in another bomb in the other wing in the school, but that didn't go off.

By that reasoning, it would be a good idea to make sure that firearms are available in order to limit casualties from future attacks.

It seems that gun violence is severely escalating.
