Hey there everybody. Nice to meet you my name is turtleyo.

One of the biggest Reason why I have come to this forum is to learn more about aspergers and to get closer to finding out if I have it!

The biggest reason why I suspect that I may have aspergers is that I have had at least two people, who have got to know me really well
at work, ask if was autistic/aspergers. People that I know better also say that I am special although that could have a lot of different meanings.
One of whom said that I was really like his friend adam, a question that I really need to ask him about, he said this after I made an inappropriate comment about father christmas and a reindeer doing something under a christmas tree. Although that may be difficult as he has recently stopped speaking to me.
A friend from school also wrote in my yearbook "You look like you borrowed your body for a day and still haven't got used to it yet."

I took the AQ test and got a score of 167, although I can't really base anything accurately on a test done online.
If there are any other decent tests online it would be handy to know of them if you would be so kind. :)

I have had difficulty with socialising all of my life. A lot of my earlier school reports have comments along the lines of "turtleyo is a clever boy but needs to interact more in class". Although that cold have been due to bullying/domestic problems.

I still have trouble socialising to this day. I find that whilst in small groups say 3 or so I'm perfectly fine but in large groups have difficulty keeping track of the conversation and often feel drained by them. People often say I need to talk more.
I also tend to have a problem with eye contact when talking to people unless I know them pretty well.

Thank you for your time.
Peace out homeslice turtleyo!

Hello, and welcome to Wrong Planet.

A diagnosis can't really be done online, all the tests are indicators for personal evaluation. When I was diagnosed it was after 4 days of interviews, one of which with my mother present to answer questions about my childhood. They take into account things that just can't be done online, unfortunately.

Your report cards sound like mine, except I can't remember ever being called clever. "Not using his full potential" was a common line.

Your friends and family, if they know how to recognize aspergers, can be excellent indicators if they're being honest (which in your case I think they are).

Difficulty in social encounters and not making eye contact are very common signs, but can also be due to shyness. The fact they correlate with other symptoms seems to make a convincing argument that you may indeed have AS, but again nothing online, and definitely not me, can diagnose you. If you feel it would be of value to get a diagnosis, or simply to aid you in overcoming some difficulties I highly recommend you make an appointment to see a professional. If however for the time being you are just looking to see others and compare your own situation to theirs you are in the right place.

Again, welcome to WP.

Welcome to Wrong Planet.
Your writing suggests that you live in the UK. I should say the spelling of certain words. Does your healthcare system cover testing for Aspergers? In the US we have many private health insurers so testing may or may not be covered.
