I dont know why but sometimes I focus on stuff I like for very long periods of time and dwell on topics of interest for very long periods of time while most people around me get bored by it or annoyed but me I get get so excited and fascinated! Like this I could watch this for hours! This is footage of inside the crater of Mt. Erubus a volcano in Antarctica that is active and one that posseses a lava lake. So fascinating seeing extreme cold meet extreme heat! Ahhhh so coool gah anyway back on topic yeah does anyone else do this?

Hmmmmmmmm . . . you ask a bunch of Autistics if any of them engage in behaviour which is very common among Autistics.

My guess if that you'll get a lot of "yes"es.

I'll be the first - YES!

I dwell on a lot of things way longer than I should. If someone wrongs me, it NEVER leaves my mind. It pops up at the most odd times too. My interests sometimes stay with me for a couple of years! Reading was a HUGE part of my life for a while, then video games, collecting and watching movies, etc. Some things that are weird to dwell on for long periods of time are usually only a few months to a year! Like Destiel (the completely fictional pairing of Dean/Castiel on Supernatural, they aren't even together on the show), lotions (collecting them, using them), haircuts (I used to love them, I have short hair now, so I can't get it cut as often), Certain aspects of history (like their sexuality), After watching "The Day After" I was obsessed with radiation and radiation poisoning and researched it A LOT.

We all have our interests, it's one of the worst/best things we Aspies get!

Oh, guess I misunderstood the question then. I thought you mean dwell as in stare at an object for a long time or things alike.

In that case, it's pretty much the same as what khaos mentioned. And I love my special interest! Game development has been interesting me since I was a little kid! :D

I dwell on a range of topics constantly, Mostly philosophy and existential thinking. Some has to do with my OCD and some has to do with autism such as my special interest (Astronomy)

It's most likely because they follow a certain repetitive scheme (magma shoots into crater, lava flows down, lava breaks through several times, those are slow moving "fluids" and I read that most autistic people are fascinated by slow moving fluids).

I can dwell on my interests for long periods of time.
When it comes to emotional stuff like when someone wronged me, I dwell on that for long periods of time too.
I also dwell on a stupid mistake I make for a long period of time as well.

That pretty much covers it.

Society. :P

It sets most limits, it is what forces us to act normal and hide our true self in many cases.

How about this? I kind of like it...except when another drop goes in. A bit too fast at that point. I guess that was why I always liked lava lamps lol. I miss having one.

It makes use of licensed music - GEMA blocked this video in my country. I hate GEMA, they ruined one of my favourite activities on the internet: Browsing videos on YouTube... :(
Often I searched for new bands or albums or songs on YouTube so I didn't have to go to a big music store by train (30-40 minutes travelling) to even have a similar overview to YouTube and to discover new bands (that store contains devices where you can scan the album and listen to low quality samples - low quality... YouTube was better to get a preview). And I'm not in the mood to do certain stuff just to be able to see those videos. :x

Wish I could see this one though. Personally, I like slow moving liquids too.

They have some others on youtube as well. They aren't the best to look at really, as I am specific on what I want to watch, but maybe try just dropping food coloring in water? It looks like that is all he basically did. or how about this one? There isn't any music in it! Whoever made it slowed it down. So it's nice and slow.
