Hey everyone, I'm in a relationship with my girlfriend. Been going strong for almost 11 months now, I know that doesn't sound like that long.

Single, but have had two relationships under my belt.

Its complicated.

I'm in relationship, but I want out of this & to be with someone else.

I have always been single

Single... And even when seeing someone, I couldn't somehow put any kind of title on the status of that kind of relationship, so I guess the closest you could come with that is "open relationship" or "it's complicated"

Been single for more than a few years now. Looks like it's only going to become harder.

I had a few girlfriends in the past, but none of them were serious

I might be in a transition phase from single to relationship.

I'm in a perpetual state of transition. My girlfriend and I are in an open relationship. I think she's moving toward wanting us to be more serious but I just can't handle that right now.

Single. No surprise that the vast majority who responded to the poll are single.Perhaps a better question poll might be ''who is single but desires a relationship?'' I knew early on that I wasn't cut out to be a family man but like almost everyone I would like to be in a relationship but I am not sure I am capable of maintaining one.

You're surprised a lot of Aspies are single?! !

Singledom is one of the more common curses of being autistic, that many Aspies share. You are lucky to have someone (assuming you're Aspie), especially at your age (16?). You really are, be grateful. I'm sure you are, but just saying. A LOT of Aspies are deprived of affection and intimacy, sometimes for life. Just search the forum.

Yeah I had thought that it would be more difficult for Aspies to find someone, and yeah I guess I am extremely lucky then - I am 100% Aspie

You are lucky. I don't begrudge you, I tell you because I want you to hang onto it and enjoy it. You may not know it, but it's precious.

I am 25 and I've been very deprived of intimacy. But search the forum, and you'll find much older lifelong singles who have given up. It's just a sad fact of having this kind of problem; with autism, if the environment isn't right, you may never make it to that point of meeting someone and developing something that works physically and emotionally. It's harsh.

Its complicated. So is life.
