The European Union on Tuesday took the debate about genetically modified crops to the public with a survey asking citizens to share their thoughts on organic farming. The bloc's 500 million consumers are invited to complete an anonymous online questionnaire on the European Commission's Agriculture and Rural Development website (http://ec.europa.eu/agriculture/consult ... 013_en.htm). The consultation, which ends on April 10, is part of a review of European policy on organic agriculture.

The EU can shove its consultation up its hole. They're an anti-democratic, parasitical organisation that I will never respect.

UKIP all the way!

Thought I would add this, to maybe spark more interest for this thread:

EU-US trade deal 'will dismantle GM health protections'

Earth Open Source has warned an EU-US free trade deal would weaken safeguards on genetically modified (GM) crops.

The proposed deal wants to tie health issues related to genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to 'accepted, science-based standards' and 'harmonize regulations and standards that can hinder transatlantic trade and investment'.

"This is doublespeak for watering down the EU's already weak GM regulatory system to the level of the almost non-existent regulation in the US" said Claire Robinson, research director at Earth Open Source.

I dont care for an US/EU trade deal about material stuff, but the stuff they call food in the US, they can keep for themself. We already have enough of useless crap in our supermarkets, dont need more of such nonsense.
