As the title. Do you want to have children or not? Why? And how important is it to you?

Having a child would be nice but, alas, I fear it's too late.

No. No. And again, NO! 8O I'm almost too old to have kids now anyway, and I'm not even married or even have a boyfriend! I have two lovely little kitties and that's enough. :cat:

Yes, I want it so much (not now, but eventually) it pains me. OTOH, I'm scared of pregnancy, so it's a catch 22. My ideal situation would be having a baby via a surrogate mother (with my genetic material of course), but there's a lot of money and a lot of a lot of things involved.

Nope. There are enough kids in the world that don't have parents.

No. I don't like babies. I don't want the 24-hour responsibility. It wouldn't be fair to the child because this is my attitude and that's just not a very motherly attitude. I think children are interesting and enjoy working with them and talking to them, but I don't want one in my house - too chaotic!

My mother has nine siblings, so I have a LOT of cousins and started babysitting and changing diapers when I was twelve. Any romantic desire I ever had about babies was quashed then and there, because babies are a lot of hard, smelly work. And they cry. And you can't reason with them one bit.

Cats, on the other hand, are awesome, as are most animals.

I do not believe a child should be brought into this world unless you can provide it with a trust fund, so that it can enjoy its life here. G

Yes, I do. It borders on compulsive need.

I should say that I've dealt with a suprise miscarriage at 5 weeks, so there's the issue of not knowing you want something until you lose it even though you didn't know you had it. But in general, I've always loved kids and I can't wait to have my own. I'm really crossing my fingers that I get to have a baby in my arms by Christmas. I'm 24 and will be 25 by then.

Never. Was told I would change my mind when I got older. I got older, didn't change my mind. No maternal instinct here at all.

I abolutely like children but I don't want to have them myself for several reasons.

One of those reasons is that I don't want to pass my aspergers, or a more severe form of autism, on to a next generation. I don't think that autism is so terrible that no one should be born with it but it definitely makes life more complicated and difficult.
Another reason is that I am not completely sure if I would be a really good and stable parent which is what children deserve and need most of all. I have seen too many examples of people who don't handle parenthood well at all and I don't want become one of them. Not for my own sake but for the sake of the (hypothetical) children.

I don't want any of my own. I have nephews and that is enough for me.
