Has anyone on this board attended the College Internship Program and if so, can you tell me if they do what they promise to do - which is an aspergers teen/young adult independent and develop coping skills?? :)

i am actually a current student there. and to answer your question - yes CIP helps young adults (college age) become independent in many aspects. they not only assist with the social aspects (ex: coping skills) but with college skills, job training, life skills, health and exercise, money management, along with others. i find them to be a great support system (not only when it comes to independence, but with other things too). but as far as the promise aspect of you question, this type of promise works better if a student is more motivated and more dedicated to helping CIP help them. i'm only on my second year at the moment but because i have that outlook (and also had it upon entering) i ended up doing much better here. i hope i helped.
