Skateboarding looks very dangerous, doesn't seem worth it to hurt yourself over.

I tryed it, I like snowboarding more.
Because to fall in the snow with your snow suit on doesn't hurt nearly that much as falling on the street with a skateboard. 8O

Besides that it's fun, but just try it with a good insurance...! ;)

I started skating again, its hard work and a fun way [compared to jogging] to lose weight

Ooh! Snowboarding is fun :D i tried it with my friend and i could balance yet my steering wasn't good and i ended up flying into her bonking our heads, we were all good though.
I still skateboard to this day and i have longboard skateboards i ride also.
My first board was in 1st or 2nd grade and have been skating since
Literally i collect skateboards, i have ones from the 70s til present day and some novel ones also

I need to get the right deck and wheels for me as I'm too heavy for this board and the cheap bearings make it unsafe
It seems important to get the right size, especially to begin with.

I need a 33x9 deck [I think] for my 210 pounds, if I was 165lbs like when I was 18yrs old, I could ride a smaller deck

I might go to a skate store today and ask the guys what they think...

I was a roller. Sucked though. :) I'd be riding down at the local park (even in the middle of nowhere there's a skate park), if I wasn't so sure of breaking bones. I ain't man enough.

friendly open guys, happy fit
lean and hard
high percentage of aspie friendly NT's
more than most

100's of people
all slim and moving like a writhing snake
no fat people

I prefer to lay on the sakteboard. Going down a sidewalk and hitting the wrong part on a stop sign is so much fun.

Have been to a few skateparks in Auckland now. Met quite a few skateboarders now too

Some are really mean spirited as*holes!
Bullying little kids and anyone else like aspies!

Much of the culture is negative. Imagery on the artwork, symbolism and even the way people can skate.

things like

wanton destruction of ones own equipment[good for retailers]
f**k you attitude [including a FU tee shirt and skate graphics] hostile by default

I'm not going to go on about it. It is a current obsession of mine. But only a short one and not for much longer.

Shame, the fitness is great, excellent core and legs exercise and great for surfing. I might just avoid skateparks, except early in the morning when older skaters, toddlers and parents are there. After they leave it gets like *school boys out of control*

But it depends on the skate-park.
Some are cool 24/7, but not my local.
Aspie's beware, bullies abound

BTW, Tony Hawk has a very flat effect.... hes the Tiger Woods or Kelly Slater of Skateboarding. Even more so as hes invented so many new tricks, a true legend and a lot like us....
