I don't know if the girl has Asperger's, the article doesn't specify what her disability is, but I think it's a possibility.

Summary of the article: 12-year-old girl, a special education student, is told to go to the kitchen and wash dishes, but refuses to do so. The principal is called, girl gets scared and wets her pants. The girl is charged with disorderly conduct.

I think that's a complete disgrace on the part of the school. Don't they realize that special education students may react in a manner different from other students?

Whether or not the girl has Autism or AS, I thought this was a relevant news topic to share here.

If I were the parent, I would be summoning highly-paid lawyers to sue the 5hit out of the school or aligning myself with disability advocates who could pay for said lawyers. She would also go back to that school over my cold dead body.

And seriously, how is this disorderly conduct? Especially since she is in special-ed? Maybe she really was just scared of the principal. I also don't understand why the parents should be fined. I'm sure that they are well-aware of the issues that their child has.

Edit: I just asked Jesus if he thinks that the school officials there are sinners for punishing this girl. He told me to wait for a sign.

I hate when people mistreat kids, so if I'd have seen it in person I would have likely been the one placed under arrest.

I wanna know if she refused 'cos she needed to spend a penny. Besides which, since when was it the pupil's job to wash the dishes? I'm going to look at it - I hope (because of the dishes part) that this was a cookery lesson.

If I'd have been there, I'd have called my friend in the Air Force who just so happens to be a up and coming lawyer, told him what's up and have him come out and litigate the school and then sue for a whole ton o money.

Even if this kid did not have a disability, this is f'ing sick. That principal should be publically stoned to death. No wonder so many kids these days are growing up traumatized. Jesus christ.
