How am I supposed to know that? I'm not God nor do I have his neurology. I have asked the same thing. If God chooses to reveal himself and tell me the answer then he will. If he chooses not to reveal himself nor tell me then he will not. Right now, God has chosen not to.

I think you're taking too much for granted. ;)

I disagree that God is hiding. After all, if Creation exists, it is evidence of a Creator. Not only that, but God has used a variety of ways of communicating His message to us, both individually in our personal experiences and as people groups. Some of us accept those experiences for what they are and many of us don't. It's not that God has turned His back on us. We've turned our backs to Him.

The God, no God argument, while interesting, in most forms I've seen, doesn't make either case very well.

The Christian and other versions of a supposedly loving and interventionist creator, clearly have some severe logic problems, not least of which is "How can a loving god that has the power to intervene refuse to do so in the light of suffering of innocents?"

If God is not this but is an initiating force that is outside the space time framework, then it becomes close to meaningless, and requires no religious mumbo jumbo to placate. And we are still left with the probable infinite question progression of what created the creator?

To our limited perspective, it appears that the Universe operates to a set of immutable laws, many we know, probably some we are yet to define, would it not be better to see religion, or that urge to religiousness, be put to realising those laws and living consciously in tune with them?

No matter how many goats we butcher on mountain tops, or how many processions we have carrying a statue around town, not the slightest difference will be made to those laws. We can however, use that urge to come together to wonder at the vastness of the universe in time, to learn to live together in a caring way. Something that seems to have largely been lost in all the BS associated with religion.

My personal take on this, not a belief, purely an hypothesis, is that we, as humans, are but cells in the greater living entity that is this planet. Think fractal. ad infinitum
